Mawani launches expression of interest for marine services at eight ports

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) in cooperation with National Center for Privatization & PPP (NCP) has launched an Expression of Interest (EOI) for marine services projects at eight major commercial and industrial ports of Saudi Arabia.

The ports in which the two partners are interested include Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz Port, Yanbu Commercial Port, King Fadah Industrial Port in Yanbu, Jazan Port, Ras Al Khair Port, King Fadah in Jubail and Jubail Commercial Port.

The long-term agreements will be awarded to private sector companies through a competitive procurement process, which will be in accordance with the Private Sector Participation (PSP) Law, according to a statement.

They will include basic marine services such as anchorage, pilotage, towage, berthing and unberthing and mooring, as well as additional services like pollution control and firefighting.

Through this initiative, Mawani aims to boost its position in Saudi Arabia as “a global logistics hub”, in line with the National Transport and Logistics strategy under Saudi Vision 2030.
