Marcura takes over HubSE to revolutionize tanker demurrage claims

Maritime technology company Marcura has completed the acquisition of HubSE, a UK-based innovator specializing in the automation of oil and chemical tanker demurrage claims.

This acquisition establishes Marcura as the first commodity-agnostic provider of demurrage solutions, significantly advancing the simplification of demurrage claims for ship owners and charterers.

The merger is expected to enhance Marcura’s offerings, providing a unified claims management solution that includes both fully managed and self-service options.

Henrik Hyldahn, Group CEO of Marcura, emphasized the significant enhancements HubSE brings to the Marcura ecosystem, providing a unified solution for managing demurrage claims across all major commodity types for the first time.

Tim Bridges, co-founder of HubSE, stated that merging with Marcura represents the next stage in the evolution of HubSE’s technology.

This acquisition aligns with Marcura’s recent brand transformation and underscores its commitment to fostering a more interconnected maritime industry.

Central to Marcura’s vision is the integration of data, automation, and AI-driven insights throughout its platforms, empowering clients to operate more efficiently, respond more quickly, and maintain competitiveness in a complex regulatory environment.
