Manzanillo port and terminal operators create new association

Port terminals and operators in Manzanillo, Mexico have united to form a new alliance, the Association of Terminals and Operators of Manzanillo (ASTOM) aiming to promote and further strengthen the country’s major port of Manzanillo.

ASTOM includes Contecon Manzanillo S.A. (CMSA), International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) Mexican subsidiary, Grupo Carrix – SSA, Ocupa, Friman, Hazesa, Corporación Multimodal and TAP Terminals.

ICTSI-owned CMSA will lead ASTOM for the next couple of years through José Antonio Contreras, CMSA CEO, who will be the president of the new association.

He commented, “Customers and users have given us their trust, and it’s our responsibility as an association to seek the constant development of the Port of Manzanillo, and with this, continue helping and accompanying Mexican foreign trade and its growth.”
