Malta Freeport pioneers Digital Twin for enhanced efficiency

Malta Freeport has reached a significant milestone in its journey towards innovation and operational excellence by becoming the first terminal in its group to harness data for enhanced efficiency through the Digital Twin developed by Next Port.AI.

This transformation began two years ago, drawing inspiration from a European project won by the French carrier CMA CGM in 2018. That initiative, focused on research and experimentation, provided valuable insights that laid the foundation for Malta Freeport’s current advancements in Digital Twin technology.

The introduction of the Digital Twin represents a new era of operational excellence, utilizing advanced algorithms and business rules to optimize efficiency. By simplifying processes, it enhances visual experiences to support better decision-making.

Leveraging real-time data ensures that operations are executed according to plan, while the system’s deep analytics enable seamless integration from troubleshooting to continuous improvement.

Additionally, this technology contributes to cost savings by proactively identifying and addressing operational issues before they escalate.
