Major carriers set new rates and surcharges across the world

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has decided to increase its prices from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to the major European ports of Antwerp and Valencia. The following freight rates will be effective from 1 June until further notice but not beyond the end of the month.

At the same time, Hapag-Lloyd will push up rates for all cargoes and all container types from East Asia to South America East Coast, as follows:

  • US$600/container

In addition, CMA CGM has announced two new peak season surcharges (PSS). The first one will be US$300 for all dry cargo from Indian ports to West Coast South America and will be effective from 25 May, date of loading in the origin ports, and from 12 June for Ecuador and Buenaventura, Colombia.

The second PSS, which will take effect on 26 June, will be US$125 per 20′ | US$250 per 40′ for all types of cargo from Ecuador to East Coast South America, West Coast South America, Leeward, Windward, French Guiana, French West Indies, Central America East Coast, the Caribbean and Mexico East Coast.
