Maike Asmussen to join DHL as EVP of Corporate Public Affairs

DHL Group has appointed Maike Asmussen as Executive Vice President of Corporate Public Affairs, effective 1 January 2026. She will succeed Volker Ratzmann, who is retiring, and report directly to CEO Tobias Meyer.

Asmussen currently serves as Chief Political Officer at Merck and brings more than 20 years of experience in politics and global advocacy. She has held roles in the Hessian State Chancellery, the Federal Ministry of the Interior, and the Federal Chancellery, coordinating with national and European parliaments, regulators, and EU institutions.

CEO Tobias Meyer said: “Maike’s expertise in politics and advocacy will be key to advancing our public affairs and regulatory goals. We thank Volker Ratzmann for his dedication, particularly in sustainability and strengthening our international position, and wish him the best in his next chapter.”

Ratzmann will step down on 1 January 2026 but will continue to support selected projects until 31 July 2026.
