Maersk vessel disabled in the English Channel

The 2008-built Maersk Bulan was disabled around 07:30 UTC on 26 November in the English Channel. The incident happened while the ship was on its way from Southampton, United Kingdom, to Belgium’s Antwerp.

The Singapore-flagged 223m container ship was carrying IMO categorized dangerous goods during the timing of this incident. As the incident struck, the ship was kept under the steady supervision of the French CROSS Gris-Nez. As of date, the cause of the incident has not been identified.

After the possible cause of the incident was identified onboard, the ship started sailing after around three hours. Shortly after the ship resumed its voyage, it berthed in Antwerp.
