Maersk to move all pre-pickup booking amendments online

Maersk Alette

A.P. Moller – Maersk has announced a key step in its ongoing digital transformation strategy, shifting all booking amendment requests submitted prior to empty container pickup to its digital platforms starting December 1, 2025.

From this date, customers will need to make amendment requests through Maersk.com, EDI, or INTTRA, streamlining the process for improved speed, transparency, and accuracy. The move aims to enhance customer self-service capabilities and ensure faster handling times.

Email-based amendment requests will only be accepted in limited cases:

  • When a request is made after the empty container has been picked up.

  • If a system or website downtime prevents online submission (with supporting screenshots).

  • For customers subscribed to Maersk Booking Services (BKS).

Maersk Go customers will remain temporarily exempt due to current platform limitations.

Requests submitted outside these exceptions will be redirected to the appropriate online channels.

Customers can find detailed instructions on Maersk’s support page under “How to amend a booking?” and are encouraged to register and familiarize themselves with the platform ahead of implementation.

Maersk stated that online processing will offer “greater visibility and efficiency” for customers, further reinforcing its commitment to a fully digital and transparent logistics experience.
