Agricultural Expert: Maersk Saltoro case lessons for government, insurers and shippers

The breakdown of the container ship Maersk Saltoro is a lesson for Chilean fruit exporters, and shows that such shippers must have contingency plans for such unforeseen circumstances, according to an agricultural expert.

Rodrigo Gil Lavandero, an agricultural area manager with consultancy Colliers’ Chilean office, told Container News: “What happened is an isolated event that had never happened before, but it can happen again.”
