Maersk has announced a revision to its Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for the W1FW trade, covering cargo moving from Asia to Senegal, effective 1 March 2026 until further notice.

The revised surcharge will apply to shipments originating from China, Hong Kong China, Taiwan China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia, with Senegal as the destination.

Under the updated structure, the Peak Season Surcharge is set at USD 1,000 per 20-foot container and USD 2,000 per 40-foot and 45-foot high-cube dry containers, charged per container.

For non-spot bookings, the surcharge will be determined based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD). For non-FMC trades, the PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation, while for FMC trades, it refers to the last container gate-in date. For spot bookings, the applicable surcharge will be based on the first vessel ETD at booking confirmation.

Maersk noted that the surcharge will apply in addition to other applicable charges, including local and contingency surcharges, and does not affect tariffs published or filed under local regulatory requirements.

The carrier added that, for trades subject to US Shipping Act or China Maritime Regulations, any variation from the published tariff will only be binding if included in a duly filed service contract or amendment.
