Maersk revises peak season surcharge from Far East Asia to Mediterranean ports

Maersk has announced an adjustment to its Peak Season Surcharge for shipments moving from Far East Asia to selected Mediterranean destinations.

The revised rates will take effect from the price calculation date of July 28, 2025.

This update applies specifically to cargo destined for Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Greece, and Ukraine, while surcharge levels for all other Mediterranean destinations remain unchanged.



This surcharge is applied on the E2W trade route (Far East Asia to West Mediterranean).

For shipments from Far East Asia to Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Greece, and Ukraine, the revised PSS is as follows: US$50 per container for 20’ dry and 20’ reefer, US$100 per container for 40’ dry, 40’ high reefer, and 45’ high dry.

For shipments from Far East Asia to all other Mediterranean ports, excluding the five countries listed above, the existing Peak Season Surcharge remains at US$250 per container for 20’ dry and 20’ reefer and US$500 per container for 40’ dry, 40’ high reefer, and 45’ high dry.
