Maersk has shifted Subic Bay from its IA3 intra-Asia service to IA5, according to Alphaliner.
Under the change, IA3 will no longer call at the Philippines and will focus on Vietnam and Borneo. Meanwhile, IA5 now serves four Philippine ports, strengthening Maersk’s coverage in the region.
The updated itineraries are:
-
IA3 – 3 weekly sailings, 1,800 TEU: Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Shenzhen (Yantian), Ho Chi Minh, Tanjung Pelepas, Bintulu, Muara, Kota Kinabalu, back to Kaohsiung.
-
IA5 – 7 weekly sailings, 1,700 TEU: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen (Shekou), Tanjung Pelepas, Yangon, Tanjung Pelepas, Subic Bay, General Santos, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Shanghai, Busan, Moji, back to Shanghai.
The move aims to optimize regional capacity and improve service frequency for Philippine shippers.
