A.P. Moller–Maersk has established a new 38,000 square meters warehouse in El Paso, Texas, to meet the increasing demand for logistics services at the United States-Mexico borders.
Located just five minutes from the Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, which connects El Paso with Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, the facility offers quick and flexible cross-border trade solutions.
“The opening of the El Paso facility is a milestone for Maersk in North America, as it reinforces our commitment to serving customers’ cross-border and less-than-truckload needs. Maersk’s ambition is to be the integrator of logistics, and this strategic move enables us to provide customers with an expanded product portfolio, encompassing ocean services, warehousing and distribution and landside transportation, tailored to the intricacies of cross-border trade,” stated Gordon Branov, Head of Less-than-Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL) and Linehaul at Maersk North America.
The Ysleta Port of Entry is the largest commercial port in the El Paso area and a key trade route for goods moving north from Juárez. Positioned along a major trucking route and close to Interstate 10, the site serves as a crucial point for freight travelling in both directions across the border.
The facility features 73 dock doors, two ramps for oversized cargo, and 116 truck parking spaces, designed to streamline the receiving, sorting, and consolidation of cargo. Equipped with 24-hour surveillance and a fully fenced yard, it enhances security and operational efficiency. As a customs-bonded warehouse, it allows customers to defer duty payments until their goods are either consumed or re-exported. The site also includes an 80,000-square-foot Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), where goods can be stored indefinitely without incurring duties. Office space is available within the facility for convenient access to inventory.
The warehouse is compliant with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, ensuring high standards of quality management.
