Maersk opens new Ground Freight Station in Savannah

Maersk has expanded its U.S. logistics footprint with the opening of a new Maersk Ground Freight (MGF) Station in Savannah, Georgia, enhancing regional pickup and delivery services and improving supply chain reliability for customers.

The 20,000 sq. ft. facility, equipped with three docks and a dedicated ground fleet, will provide local pickup and delivery (PU&D) service across the Savannah market. The station enables faster cargo movement, improved service consistency, and closer operational control for shippers.

Savannah continues to play a strategic role in Maersk’s U.S. logistics network. Home to one of North America’s fastest-growing container gateways, the Port of Savannah offers direct access to I-95 and I-16, ensuring efficient distribution into major Southeastern markets including Atlanta, Jacksonville, Charleston, and Charlotte.

The new Ground Freight station complements Maersk’s existing Contract Logistics operations in Savannah, as well as recent ground freight facilities launched in Lake City, Georgia, and Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, creating a connected network of regional logistics hubs.

“This opening reflects our commitment to building a stronger, more connected logistics network across the U.S. Savannah is an important part of that journey, helping us deliver integrated solutions that simplify supply chains for our customers,” said Bob Livingston, Head of Maersk Ground Freight Operations, North America.

With a network of more than 65 ground freight facilities across North America, Maersk continues to expand its end-to-end logistics capabilities, offering customers integrated services, improved resilience and full visibility from origin to destination.
