Maersk opens integrated cold chain hub

Maersk has officially launched a new integrated packing and cold storage facility in Olmos, Peru, marking a strategic move to strengthen the country’s growing fresh fruit export sector. The facility aims to ensure greater speed, efficiency, and product freshness from farm to global markets, as demand for Peruvian produce continues to rise.

Located in the Lambayeque region, one of Peru’s most dynamic agricultural zones, the 17,500-square-meter facility is the first of its kind in northern Peru. Positioned close to major plantations, it is engineered to manage the entire post-harvest journey for high-demand fruits such as avocados, blueberries, and mangoes. It also offers flexible cold storage options for other seasonal exports like grapes.

The facility integrates essential logistics operations, including packing, processing, cold storage, container depot services, inland refrigerated transport, and customs handling. Its direct connection to Maersk’s global supply chain network allows exporters to benefit from a seamless end-to-end service, improving both reliability and delivery times.
