Maersk has announced a strategic shift in its Colombian operations. Following the commissioning of the new terminal at Puerto Antioquia, the carrier will move its NAE service and the Turbo Feeder away from Turbo. This transition utilizes the most modern facilities at the new site.

The NAE service will follow a specific rotation. It connects Philadelphia, Norfolk, and Savannah with Cartagena. Afterward, the service calls at Puerto Antioquia and Colon before reaching Moin. Finally, the vessels return to Philadelphia to complete the loop.

Meanwhile, the Turbo Feeder will operate between Colon and Puerto Antioquia. This dedicated feeder service provides a direct link back to Colon. However, Maersk plans to terminate the Turbo Feeder at a later date.

Once the feeder service ends, Maersk will add Puerto Antioquia to the Central America Express (CAX). The CAX rotation currently links major European hubs with North America and Central America. It serves Antwerp, Southampton, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, and Rotterdam. The service then proceeds to New York, Colon, and Moin before returning to Antwerp.

These changes allow Maersk to optimize its network through the new terminal infrastructure. Consequently, the shift improves connectivity for cargo moving between Colombia, North America, and Europe. Therefore, the move marks a significant update to the carrier’s regional logistics chain.
