Maersk merges two Arabian services into new single loop

Maersk decided to merge its Arabian Star and Arabian Express services into a single, integrated loop, the new Safina service, which will connect the Far East and Middle East regions.

According to the Danish ocean carrier, this service will establish direct calls from key locations in the Far East, including Ningbo, Shanghai, and Shekou, directly into Jebel Ali.

The rotation of the new service will be as follows:

Ningbo (China) – Shanghai (China) – Shekou (China) – Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia) – Port Klang (Malaysia) – Jebel Ali (UAE) – Colombo (Sri Lanka) – Singapore

The first sailing of the service will begin on 19 September.

Maersk has also noted the last vessel deployment of ABS and ABX services:

“This integration will further elevate our service capabilities in both directions between the Far East and the Middle East, especially in the Arabian Gulf markets,” said Maersk in a statement.

The company added that Hazira will be covered on its existing BNX service and supplemented by alternative connections to the original service.
