
Alphaliner’s August review of the intra-Asia (excluding domestic) trade reveals that Maersk increased the largest number of operated slots in the region over the past year, adding 100,000 TEU to reach a capacity of 298,134 TEU.
This jump almost closed the gap with the number one carrier in the region, COSCO Shipping Lines. The Chinese state-controlled operator, which still sits in pole position, deploys 300,491 TEU in the trade.
