Maersk announces railway line cut-off in Spain

Maersk has announced there will be a repair operation in the railway line between Algeciras and Sevilla, starting on 21 February lasting until 14 March. As a consequence of the works, the rail corridor between Madrid and Algeciras will be affected, withtrain transit times being delayed.

Maersk says that as a solution, trains within this corridor will be arranged from or to Sevilla Rail Station with the leg between Sevilla and Algeciras continued by truck.

The Danish company will also apply an extra intermodal surcharge starting 21st of February.
