Maersk has announced that as of 25 June 2025 cargo acceptance for both imports and exports at Haifa has been reopened and resumes vessel calls.
The company is closely monitoring the evolving situation and, with the prospect of a cease-fire currently in place, expects to reopen export acceptance once it can confirm lower operational risks.
The firm has issued a customer advisory in response to the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, which has impacted maritime operations involving Iran and Israel. To ensure the safety of its crew, vessels, and customers’ cargo, Maersk had temporarily suspended vessel calls to the Port of Haifa.
Also, operations continue at the Port of Ashdod, though Maersk is maintaining a high level of vigilance and will reassess its decisions as new security information emerges.
The Strait of Hormuz remains navigable at this time, with Maersk following maritime security advisories closely. The company is working on contingency plans on a case-by-case basis to adapt swiftly to any changes and will update customers accordingly.
Cargo diversion plans from Haifa are actively being finalized, and Maersk reiterated its commitment to keeping customers informed while prioritizing safety and continuity of service.
