Maersk and Decathlon join forces to upgrade “last-mile” service in Singapore

A.P. Moller – Maersk and Decathlon are expanding their cooperation. Following Decathlon’s 2Hour Click & Collect service, the two companies are now aiming to optimise the Decathlon’s “last mile” delivery in Singapore.

With the partnership covering all Decathlon orders, Maersk will seek to enhance Decathlon’s E-commerce capacity by providing end to end logistics solutions as a dedicated partner in this area as well as in the Decathlon delivery area.

“We like to work long term with key selected companies to plan and to co-build our supply chains, to test and to co-invent new solutions. This is how we see our partnership with Maersk over the years to come, especially in the key and strategic last mile business”, said Stephan Veyret, Decathlon Singapore Country Leader.

Last mile delivery is related to the last part of the operations of the supply chain. This is a critical step, so that shipment is fast and efficient, which can help enhance customer satisfaction.

“Maersk Singapore has successfully customised and implemented a new solution to meet Decathlon’s E-commerce needs. Since the trial started, we have tweaked the delivery solution to ensure it runs seamlessly, with a 120% volume increase during this period,” noted Rupesh Jain, CEO of Maersk Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Maersk’s solution is expected to enable Decathlon’s customers to monitor and view in real time each package through a single platform.
