The 13,900 TEU container ship Madrid Bridge, which suffered a container collapse in the North Atlantic Ocean on 7 January, is now heading to Charleston, to berth in Hugh K. Leatherman Terminal.
Ocean Network Express (ONE)-operated new panamax vessel, which is deployed on THE Alliance’s East Coast 4 (EC4) service, is expected to arrive in the US port on 23 January, according to data from the ship tracker Marine Traffic.
The 2018-built boxship, which lost many boxes during its sailing to the Port of New York, will berth in Charleston upon completing the necessary inspection and assessment of the vessel condition, according to a statement.
“The plan is to discharge all damaged units and Charleston imports during the vessel’s call in Charleston, subject to prevailing conditions,” said ONE in its statement.
