Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo form strategic alliance

Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss WorldCargo have launched a new strategic partnership.

Both companies are the air freight divisions of the Lufthansa Group. They will work more closely to improve operations and increase customer value. Each brand will keep its own identity. However, both teams will align their commercial and operational strategy.

In the coming months, the two companies will integrate key processes. They will present a single face to customers. They will also align services, shipment flows, and procedures. Both companies will move onto one shared IT platform. This change will improve efficiency and service quality for customers and partners.

Swiss WorldCargo and Lufthansa Cargo bring different strengths to the partnership. Swiss WorldCargo focuses on high-value and time-critical shipments. It specializes in belly cargo and offers tailored services across more than 130 destinations. Lufthansa Cargo provides both belly and freighter capacity. It also operates a global network and leads in digital solutions and innovation.

The partnership combines these strengths into one broader services portfolio. Customers will gain access to a wider network and more flexible transport options.

Alain Chisari, Head of Swiss WorldCargo, said the cooperation builds on shared values and strong brand identities. He said the combined capabilities will create new synergies and improve service quality. He added that the partnership will shape the future of premium and specialized air cargo services.

Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo, said the alliance gives customers access to one of the industry’s largest networks. He said customers will also benefit from a broader product range and long-standing expertise. He added that the closer cooperation supports the Lufthansa Group’s goal of connecting people, cultures, and economies in a sustainable way.
