Long An International Port (Vietnam) and the Port of Kobe (Japan) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a strategic port partnership. The agreement, signed during the Investment, Labor, and Trade Promotion Program in Japan, aims to expand trade, enhance connectivity, and develop sustainable port operations.
The signing included senior leaders from both ports, Vietnamese government officials, and representatives from Dongtam Group, the developer of Long An International Port.
The partnership focuses on:
-
Expanding maritime transport capacity and cargo throughput at both ports.
-
Sharing best practices in port governance, operations, and terminal management.
-
Collaborating on green port and smart port initiatives to reduce carbon emissions.
-
Developing joint training programs and professional exchanges to strengthen the logistics workforce.
-
Connecting global business partners and customers to support regional trade.
The strategic partnership is expected to enhance Vietnam-Japan trade, strengthen regional supply chains, lower logistics costs, and support industrial growth in Tay Ninh Province and surrounding regions. It reinforces the shared commitment of both nations to sustainable development, modern infrastructure, and global integration.
