Lloyd’s Register appoints new strategic business partner for Hong Kong

Edward Koo, Strategic Business Partner and Senior Responsible Person (Vice President) for Hong Kong

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has appointed Edward Koo as its new Strategic Business Partner and Senior Responsible Person (Vice President) for Hong Kong. In his role, Koo will lead LR’s client engagement with key maritime stakeholders in the region and represent the organization at a senior level in Hong Kong.

Koo brings over a decade of maritime experience, including his recent position as Group Chief Operations Officer at Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Co. (TCC), where he oversaw commercial and technical operations for bulker and tanker fleets and led emission-reduction R&D initiatives. He also previously worked at Chevron as an IT Operations Business Analyst.

Edward Koo said he is joining LR at a pivotal time for the industry, citing evolving regulations, technological transformation, and the enduring influence of maritime heritage. Andrew McKeran, LR’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the appointment as part of LR’s strategy to strengthen client-focused leadership in key markets.
