A Kuwaiti oil tanker caught fire after being struck in what has been described as an Iranian attack while anchored at Dubai Port, according to local sources and state media reports.
Kuwait’s official news agency KUNA, citing the state-owned oil company, reported that the fully laden crude oil tanker was targeted in the anchorage area, resulting in damage to the vessel’s hull and raising concerns over a potential oil spill.
Dubai authorities confirmed that emergency response teams quickly contained the incident and extinguished the fire. Officials added that there were no injuries among the 24 crew members on board and no oil leakage was detected.
“The response teams have successfully contained the incident involving the Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai waters, with no oil leakage and no injuries reported,” the Dubai Media Office said in a statement.
