Kongsberg Discovery expands with Argeo Technologies acquisition

Kongsberg Discovery is boosting its underwater sensing capabilities with the acquisition of key technologies from Argeo’s bankruptcy estate. The deal includes Argeo Whisper, Argeo Listen, and Argeo Scope, along with related software, hardware, and skilled personnel.

President Martin Wien Fjell called the technology highly strategic. “Whisper and Listen expand our portfolio with electromagnetic sensing. Scope will enhance our Blue Insight platform, offering stronger analytics and ocean data visualization,” he said.

Executive Vice President Audun Berg welcomed the addition of both assets and expertise. “We will integrate these technologies into new products and deliver value-added solutions to Hugin customers, as well as ROVs, drones, and towed vehicles,” he said.

The transfer of IP and staff is underway. Berg noted that the incoming team’s experience will accelerate development and strengthen customer offerings.

Argeo’s software for automated data collection and visualization will be integrated into Kongsberg’s Blue Insight platform, improving digital ocean intelligence with enhanced security and seamless integration.
