Konecranes wins major service deal with Meyer Turku

Konecranes has signed a four-year service agreement with Meyer Turku Oy to maintain and optimize around 200 cranes at its historic Finnish shipyard. The cranes range from small 63 kg units to the massive 1,200-tonne Goliath gantry crane. The deal, booked in June 2025, is now underway.

The agreement covers maintenance, repairs, and operational readiness across the shipyard’s crane fleet. Meyer Turku, a key player in Finland’s maritime industry for nearly 300 years, employs about 2,000 people and has built more than 1,300 vessels, including Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas.

“Meyer Turku needed a dependable partner to keep pace with growth,” said Vikke Elonen, Head of Maintenance at Meyer Turku. “Konecranes’ service model fits our long-term strategy perfectly.”

“Konecranes has supported Meyer Turku for decades,” added Pekka Mäntylä, Sales Manager at Konecranes. “This agreement strengthens our partnership and reflects our shared commitment to operational excellence.”

Konecranes continues to lead in industrial service and lifting solutions, investing in digitalization and sustainability to make material flows more efficient, circular, and safe.
