Konecranes unveils electric reach stacker for greener ports

Konecranes electric reach stacker

Konecranes launched its first electric reach stacker at TOC Asia in Singapore, expanding its Ecolifting™ portfolio of low- to zero-emission port equipment. The new stacker, equipped with a high-performance electric drivetrain and high-energy Li-ion batteries, delivers up to 16 hours of operation, enabling efficient container handling without compromising productivity.

The reach stacker will be immediately available across APAC, the Middle East, Africa, and South America. Its launch reinforces Konecranes’ commitment to helping ports meet global electrification and decarbonization goals.

In addition, Konecranes has extended its Remote Services to the APAC region, offering global customers real-time, expert guidance for diagnostics and troubleshooting without the need for on-site personnel. The service enhances operational efficiency, maximizes uptime, and supports the shift toward data-driven port operations.

Andreas Falk, SVP Lift Trucks at Konecranes, stated: “Our fully electrified lift truck portfolio empowers customers to improve operations sustainably, whether in ports, steel mills, or 24/7 terminals.” Nico Zamzow, SVP Port Services, added: “Digitalization and expert remote support are essential as ports work to reduce emissions and optimize performance.”

Throughout 2025, Konecranes has launched innovative solutions including the Noell Hydrogen Fuel Cell Straddle Carrier, E-Hybrid RTG, and electric empty container handler. These initiatives support Konecranes’ Ecolifting™ vision: increasing environmental benefits while reducing customers’ carbon footprints across port operations.
