Konecranes to supply more cranes to Super Terminais

Brazilian terminal operator Super Terminais is expanding its equipment fleet with the order of three more Konecranes Gottwald ESP.10 mobile harbor cranes, reinforcing its commitment to meet growing cargo demand along the Amazon River. The new cranes are expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2026.

This latest investment follows the company’s initial acquisition of the world’s first three ESP.10 units back in 2021. Since then, the cranes have proven their value at the Port of Manaus, delivering strong performance and reliability under demanding conditions—qualities that prompted the repeat order.

As shipping volumes rise and megaships become more frequent visitors to the region, the terminal is stepping up capacity. The pedestal-mounted cranes offer a reach of 64 meters and are capable of handling super-post-Panamax vessels, making them a strategic fit for both container and general cargo operations. Importantly, the cranes can connect to shore power, helping reduce emissions in a sensitive and ecologically important region.

“The Amazon is seeing much larger vessels and heavier loads, and our operations need to keep pace,” said Marcello Di Gregorio, Director of Super Terminais.
