Konecranes has delivered and commissioned a 1-ton Manual Portal A-frame Crane for Royal Selangor International in Malaysia. The pewter specialist, known worldwide for its handcrafted products, installed the crane in May 2025 to improve ergonomics and efficiency in its production process.
The robust A-frame portal structure is fitted with 8-inch swivel castor wheels and brakes, allowing smooth manual movement around the workshop. It is now used to lift molten pewter from the melting station to the molding machine, ensuring safe and precise handling in a high-temperature environment.
By easing the strain of heavy lifting, the crane allows Royal Selangor’s craftspeople to focus on the intricate hand-finishing that has defined the brand for 140 years.
Konecranes’ Sales Manager, Wilson Lim, said the solution was tailored to meet the company’s specific needs, enhancing safety and workflow. The delivery reflects Konecranes’ focus on customer-driven solutions, backed by investment in digitalization, technology, and sustainable material-handling practices.
