KMTC orders new 8,700 TEU boxships

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate holding company for HD Hyundai Group’s shipbuilding business, signed a deal with Korea Marine Transport Co. (KMTC) for two new 8,700 TEU container vessels.

The contract is valued at about US$230 million overall. The ships will be built by HD Hyundai Samho, and the delivery is scheduled for March 2027.
