KMTC combines loops to form new Japan-Philippines Express service

KMTC has announced the consolidation of two existing routes into a single, integrated service. The carrier will merge the Busan-Japan JEK1 and the Busan-Philippines PMX loops to create the new Philippines-Japan Express (PJX). Consequently, this change streamlines connections between South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines.

The new PJX service will utilize three vessels, each with a capacity of 1,000 TEU. By combining these loops, KMTC aims to provide more efficient transit times and improved vessel utilization across the regional network.

The revised port rotation for the PJX service is as follows:

  • Busan, South Korea

  • Tokyo, Japan

  • Chiba, Japan

  • Yokohama, Japan

  • Ulsan, South Korea

  • Busan, South Korea

  • Manila, Philippines
