King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam breaks monthly container volume record

King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Saudi Arabia handled 199,609 TEU in August 2022, marking the highest monthly container volume in the port’s history.

The previous record was set in June 2022 and was 11,031 TEU less than the new record.

The continuous development achievements that enhance both the port’s productivity and its operational and logistical capabilities are the main reasons for the record performance, according to a statement.

King Abdulaziz Port has 43 fully equipped berths, as well as modern cargo handling equipment, a full-scale container terminal, two general cargo terminals and a wide range of supporting terminals.

Also connected by rail to the Riyadh Dry Port, the country’s eastern commercial gateway houses a ship repair yard consisting of two floating docks capable of handling vessels up to 215 meters in length.
