KEZAD Group starts US$90 million infrastructure development for food and auto-hubs

Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi Group (KEZAD Group) has officially commenced infrastructure development in Area B1 at KEZAD Al Ma’mourah.

This development, valued at approximately US$90 million, covers projects such as the Abu Dhabi Food Hub and Global Auto Hub. These investments are part of AD Ports Group’s five-year organic capital expenditure plan, amounting to US$4 billion, scheduled for implementation between 2023 and 2027.

The master planning of KEZAD Al Ma’mourah Area B1 has been undertaken by Parsons, while AECOM, a globally renowned infrastructure consultancy, has been entrusted with the design of secondary infrastructure for the Food and Auto Hubs. Primary infrastructure work within Area B1 is currently underway, with UAE-based Saif Bin Darwish serving as the contractor for these essential tasks.

Moreover, the Global Auto Hub – Abu Dhabi, another joint project with Ghassan Aboud Group, is set to become one of the largest hubs in the region.

This undertaking will create a comprehensive ecosystem with dedicated sections for showrooms, storage, spare parts, workshops, test tracks, auction facilities, social and office spaces, as well as logistics services, governmental support, and commercial assistance services.

Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, CEO of Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi – KEZAD Group, commented, “Our development in KEZAD Al Ma’mourah Area B1 is one of the largest undertakings thus far. The infrastructure being built for the strategically vital businesses, services and solutions that will be housed there will be state-of-the-art, in the truest sense, adding value to the overall Abu Dhabi proposition as one of the largest and most advanced industrial, trade and logistics ecosystem of the world, in light of the vision of the leadership of the country.”
