Kalmar secures order from Depot Management Finland

Kalmar has signed an agreement to deliver two next-generation empty container handlers to Depot Management Finland Oy.

The order was recorded in Kalmar’s Q2 2025 intake, with delivery scheduled by the end of 2025.

The machines will be deployed by Container-Depot Ltd, a long-standing operator at Vuosaari port in Helsinki and part of the Depot Management Finland group, which recently expanded through the acquisition of a local container services firm.

The new equipment is set to handle growing container volumes at the site more effectively.

The empty container handlers will be equipped with innovative twin twistlock spreaders, enabling the simultaneous lifting of two containers supporting 20ft, 40ft, 45ft, and 53ft sizes, including tank containers, without compromising speed.

The spreader design features extendable top twistlocks and no side clamps, allowing for tight stacking and the safe handling of misaligned containers with deviations of up to ±55 mm.

Teemu Heikkala, Finance Manager at Depot Management Finland Oy stated that the new Kalmar machines, especially with their advanced spreader technology, will significantly enhance our service capabilities.
