Kalmar, Groupe Combronde expand 10-year partnership with new order

Sweden-based port equipment manufacturer Kalmar has finalized an agreement with Groupe Combronde, a French transport and logistics provider, for four Eco reachstackers.

The order was included in Kalmar’s Q3 2024 intake, with deliveries scheduled in two sets of two units, expected in the first quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.

“Kalmar Eco reachstackers provide us with the opportunity to make significant fuel and cost savings without compromising on productivity. The ability to reduce fuel consumption will enable us to take big steps forward in terms of our sustainability performance at Prestalog, particularly with regard to carbon emissions,” stated Vincent Loussert, National Buyer at Groupe Combronde.

The Eco reachstackers will enhance the handling capabilities of the Prestalog intermodal terminal in Loire-sur-Rhône, near Lyon in southeastern France, where they will handle container traffic arriving by road and rail. Prestalog, a subsidiary of Groupe Combronde, currently operates a range of Kalmar equipment, including reachstackers, empty container handlers and forklift trucks.

“We are very pleased to continue our decade-long partnership with Groupe Combronde and support them on their journey towards more fuel-efficient and sustainable intermodal cargo handling. Kalmar’s maintenance team in Lyon is committed to keeping the equipment in optimal condition. Both organisations share a dedication to providing the highest service quality while minimising the carbon footprint of operations. We are looking forward to many more years of successful collaboration,” stated Matthieu Le Blanc, Regional Sales Representative at Kalmar France.
