Kalmar enhances Grimaldi’s RoRo operations with heavy terminal tractors

Kalmar has finalized an agreement to provide Grimaldi Group, an Italian maritime logistics operator, with three heavy terminal tractors.

These machines will be utilized on the new Motorway of the Sea, a Ro-Ro transport system linking the ports of Trieste in Italy, and Ambarli in Turkey.

The order was recorded in Kalmar’s Q3 2024 order intake, with the machines expected to be delivered within the same quarter.

“Kalmar has been a reliable long-term partner, supporting us at many of our locations around Europe. We required the terminal tractors at extremely short notice to support Ro-Ro operations on our Trieste-Istanbul route, and Kalmar was able to deliver quickly and efficiently. We are grateful for their continued support,” said Fernando Marino, Senior Buyer at Grimaldi Group.

Grimaldi Group is Italy’s largest shipowning entity and a leading player in the global maritime transport industry. The group operates a network of port terminals and logistics companies and is also involved in passenger and container transportation sectors. Kalmar equipment is extensively used by various Grimaldi Group companies across Europe.
