Kaleris acquires Locus Software to enhance ocean carrier operations management

Kaleris has announced the acquisition of Locus Software, a UK-based provider of advanced operations management systems for ocean carriers.

This strategic move expands Kaleris’ capabilities for shipping lines by integrating Locus’ solutions into its Execution Visibility Platform, creating a unified ecosystem that streamlines the entire workflow from quoting and booking to stowage planning and cargo operations monitoring.

The newly integrated carrier operations system will connect shippers, carriers, and terminals with real-time cargo movement data, driving greater coordination and efficiency across the maritime supply chain.

Kirk Knauff, CEO of Kaleris, noted that this offer will allow customers to manage operations, assets, commercial functions, and financials from a single system of record.

Locus Software offers, through its Odyssey cloud platform, a new-generation solution for carriers—modern, user-friendly, and accessible anywhere.

Within the Kaleris ecosystem, the Odyssey platform will facilitate seamless cargo movement, enhancing operational coordination and execution throughout the shipment lifecycle.

By integrating with Stowman DS, Kaleris’ stowage planning solution, the platform becomes a powerful, end-to-end tool for cargo management, resolving communication breakdowns and improving visibility across all touchpoints in the supply chain.
