“K” Line upgrades fleet with Cobham Satcom connectivity

ICT Group from KRBS

Cobham Satcom has been selected to equip over 100 vessels in the “K” Line RoRo Bulk Ship Management (KRBS) fleet with next-generation satellite communications. The program supports KRBS’s upgrade to Inmarsat’s NexusWave service and will continue over the next two years across roll-on/roll-off and bulk carriers.

Cobham will supply its 1m SAILOR XTR GX-R2 VSAT antennas, designed for high reliability, performance, and compatibility with Inmarsat NexusWave. The technology supports modern vessel digitalization, operational efficiency, and crew welfare.

KRBS highlighted the importance of always-on connectivity for port clearance, operational reporting, and giving crews reliable access to video and internet to stay connected with families.

Cobham Satcom’s global service network ensures support, training, and maintenance across all operating regions. Gert-Jan Panken, Global VP Sales at Inmarsat Maritime, said the partnership reflects a shared focus on operational excellence and seafarer wellbeing.

Søren Egholm, SVP at Cobham Satcom, added: “KRBS’s decision shows their trust in robust, innovative technology. We are proud to deliver dependable connectivity across their fleet, supporting operations and crew welfare.”
