K Line conducts large-scale emergency response exercise

On October 8, 2025, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) conducted a comprehensive Emergency Response Exercise to strengthen preparedness for potential large-scale maritime incidents.

The drill simulated a scenario in which an LPG carrier owned by the “K” LINE Group collided with a tanker while navigating in Osaka Bay.

The exercise involved activating the company’s crisis management headquarters, establishing communication channels with the ship management company, and holding a mock press conference to replicate real-world conditions. The press session featured questions from participating journalists, creating a realistic and high-pressure atmosphere.

As global attention to safety and environmental protection continues to grow, “K” LINE emphasized that the safe operation of vessels remains its highest priority as part of its corporate social responsibility.

The company stated that it will continue to enhance its emergency preparedness through large-scale response drills while maintaining strict safety standards in daily operations to ensure secure and sustainable maritime transport.
