JAXPORT appoints new board member

Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry has appointed Jacksonville business and civic leader Soo Gilvarry to JAXPORT’s board of directors, after the Jacksonville City Council unanimously approved Gilvarry’s appointment on 28 March.

Gilvarry is the CEO/Owner of Lotus Commercial USA LLC, a Jacksonville-based commercial real estate development firm that is currently redeveloping the historic old Furchgott’s Department Store in downtown Jacksonville.

She has served on the board of Trustees of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville, as well as the boards of directors of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Vision Inc, and the Jacksonville Real Estate Investors’ Association (JAXREIA).

JAXPORT board chair J. Palmer Clarkson said, “Her passion for contributing to the economic growth of Jacksonville will be an asset to us as we work to maximise the economic opportunity JAXPORT creates for Jacksonville and the State of Florida.”
