Interasia signs contract for new container vessels

Interasia has signed a shipbuilding agreement with Jiangsu YangziJiang Shipbuilding Group for six 2,900 TEU container vessels, with options for two additional units.

The contract was signed on August 14, 2025, at YZJ’s main office by Mr. Brendan Williams, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Interasia, and Mr. Ji Hongfei, Vice General Manager of YZJ.



The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from YZJ, shipbrokers, and Interasia, who expressed confidence in the partnership’s success.

This marks Interasia’s first newbuilding collaboration with YZJ, representing a major step forward in the company’s fleet expansion strategy and reinforcing its ambition to strengthen its presence in the Intra-Asia market and beyond.

The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and will enhance Interasia’s ability to compete with efficiency and sustainability at the core of its operations.
