Imabari Shipbuilding delivered the CORAL HALO, a 64,000-ton handy-max bulk carrier, from its Shin Kasado Dockyard. The vessel is designed for ocean-going operations and meets the Common Structural Rules (CSR BC & OT).
Each cargo hold features topside and hopper tanks, making the ship suitable for a wide range of cargoes, including grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coils, and long steel. Wide hatch openings with folding-type covers and four deck cranes enhance cargo handling efficiency. CORAL HALO is also equipped to carry cargoes covered by the IMSBC and IMDG Codes.
The vessel incorporates advanced environmental measures to comply with MARPOL, the Ballast Water Management Convention, and the Ship Recycling Convention. It meets Phase 2 and early Phase 3 carbon emission requirements. Ballast water treatment systems and inventory of hazardous materials ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Energy-saving devices, a high-efficiency propeller, and low-friction hull paint improve fuel efficiency and propulsion performance.
