On January 7, Imabari Shipbuilding handed over the 40,000-DWT bulk carrier “NORSE KAMIJIMA” from Shimanami Shipyard Co., Ltd.
The vessel features a box-shaped double-hull hold with topside tanks, designed to carry a wide range of cargo, including grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, and long-size steel.
It has four deck cranes, wide hatch openings, and folding hatch covers for efficient cargo handling.
“NORSE KAMIJIMA” meets international environmental regulations, including MARPOL and the Ballast Water Management Convention. The ship already complies with Phase 3 CO₂ emission standards ahead of schedule. It also includes a ballast water treatment system and an Inventory of Hazardous Materials for ship recycling compliance.
The vessel achieves high propulsion efficiency through energy-saving devices, a high-efficiency propeller, and low-friction hull paint.
