Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered ONE STRENGTH, a 13,900 TEU container vessel, from its Marugame Headquarters. The ship sails under the Singapore flag and is built for Ocean Network Express (ONE).
The vessel carries up to 13,932 TEU and has four lashing bridges on deck. It can load a large number of refrigerated containers in the hold and on deck. It also meets IMDG Code standards for hazardous cargo.
Imabari designed the hull for high efficiency at service speeds. Energy-saving devices, a twist rudder, and low-friction hull paint cut fuel use. These upgrades reduce the vessel’s EEDI by about 60% compared to the baseline, well beyond regulatory requirements.
A bow wind cover improves real-world performance. Hybrid scrubbers keep SOx emissions within limits, and an exhaust gas recirculation system ensures NOx compliance. Ballast water treatment systems and recycling-ready inventory lists meet global environmental rules.
The vessel is ready for the future. It holds Approval in Principle (AiP) for methanol and ammonia fuel conversion. It can also support CO₂ capture systems later.
