IKEA Supply AG has joined DCSA+, the Digital Container Shipping Association’s partnership programme. It is the first shipper to participate. IKEA brings the cargo owner perspective to a global community of carriers, terminals, forwarders, feeders, and technology providers. Together, they aim to improve interoperability and data exchange through shared standards.
IKEA Supply AG, part of Inter IKEA Group’s Supply business, manages the flow of IKEA products from suppliers to franchisees worldwide. By joining DCSA+, the company supports transparency, automation, and consistency across its container shipping operations. It contributes to collaboration along the value chain and helps implement practical digital standards in day-to-day shipping.
DCSA+ connects industry participants to align digital practices. Its goal is to speed up adoption of open standards that improve efficiency and reliability across container transport. IKEA’s participation strengthens DCSA+ as a forum for shared learning and coordinated progress between cargo owners, carriers, and the wider ecosystem.
IKEA is working with DCSA to develop harmonised data standards. These standards improve visibility and predictability across the transport chain.
Ewelina Taylor, Global Transport Manager at Inter IKEA Group, said: “Collaboration is the way to make global shipping more sustainable and predictable. By joining DCSA+, we help create digital solutions that make information sharing easier, improve transparency, and ensure our products reach customers on time and affordably.”
Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer at DCSA, said: “Welcoming IKEA Supply AG shows the importance of shared digital standards. Their involvement validates the DCSA+ model and strengthens collaboration between cargo owners and carriers, moving the industry toward consistent digital practices.”
As more organisations join DCSA+, the programme will continue to expand its reach. It enables greater alignment and collaboration on digital standard adoption worldwide.
