ICTSI Argentina welcomes ZIM’s Patagonia Express Service

TecPlata, International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) cargo handling operations at the La Plata Port in Argentina, got the first call from ZIM’s Patagonia Express Service (PES), which connects the Argentinian market with the United States and the Caribbean Gulf, among other destinations.

ZIM’s new service links Argentina to the Caribbean and the US Gulf Coast via the ports of Kingston in the Caribbean and Houston in the Gulf of Mexico.

The service made its first call to TecPlata with the arrival of the 1,000 TEU container ship Contship Key, and with its current network configuration, it is expected to call every 45 days.

“We are pleased to receive the Contship Key at TecPlata and start this new connection with the North American gulf coast. This strategic alliance with ZIM enables us to offer our clients new services and logistics distribution. We are confident that this service will strengthen TecPlata’s position as a strategic trade port on the East Coast of South America,” stated Juan Pablo Trujillo, TecPlata’s chief executive officer.
