Icelandair Cargo has announced its entry into the Turkish market through a strategic partnership with Globe Air Cargo Turkiye, a subsidiary of ECS Group.
The alliance combines Globe Air Cargo Turkiye’s strong local expertise with ECS Group’s global network and digital capabilities, opening new opportunities for Turkish exporters and importers.
Beginning September 5, 2025, Icelandair will operate four weekly flights between Istanbul and Keflavik using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The service will offer efficient connections to Europe and the US, with a focus on high-demand sectors including textiles, automotive parts, and machinery.
This marks an important milestone as we expand into Turkey for the first time, said Einar Már Guðmundsson, Managing Director of Icelandair Cargo. With the expertise of Globe Air Cargo Turkiye and ECS Group’s digital resources, we can ensure world-class service from day one.
Jean Ceccaldi, CEO of ECS Group, emphasized the partnership’s strength saying that this collaboration reflects a vision of combining global ambitions with local expertise.
Globe Air Cargo Turkiye’s deep market understanding, supported by ECS Group’s innovation, will help Icelandair Cargo quickly establish a strong position on this new trade corridor.
The launch of these new services sets the stage for stronger air freight connectivity between Turkey, Iceland, and key transatlantic markets built on local expertise, global innovation, and a shared commitment to customer-focused growth.
