Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has confirmed it will not impose a surcharge in connection with new service fees announced by the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) on Chinese-owned and Chinese-built vessels calling at U.S. ports. The fees, set to take effect on October 14, 2025, will be phased in over three years.
HMM said its services will remain unchanged, with no adjustments to U.S. port rotations or customer service plans. The company emphasized its commitment to maintaining market share, protecting its reputation for service excellence, and keeping customers informed as regulatory developments unfold.
